Champions are the key to Lean Six Sigma success within an organization.  A Champion's roles and responsibilities include the selection, coaching and mentoring of Lean Six Sigma project managers, (Black Belts, Green Belts, etc), as well as the identification, scoping and proactive sponsoring of Lean Six Sigma projects and project teams.  To be effective in this role, Champions must have broad knowledge of the Lean & Sigma concepts, tools & methodology, an understanding of the project roadmap that their project managers will follow, as well as ensure the strategic alignment of their projects with organizational goals and objectives.
